Bucksport Wedding

Bucksport is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States. The population was 4,908 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 146.2 km (56.5 mi). 133.5 km (51.6 mi) of it is land and 12.7 km (4.9 mi) of it (8.68%) is water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 4,908 people, 2,049 households, and 1,360 families residing in the town. The population density was 36.8/km (95.2/mi). There were 2,282 housing units at an average density of 17.1/km (44.3/mi). The racial makeup of the town was 98.06% White, 0.08% Black or African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 0.14% from other races, and 1.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.88% of the population.

There were 2,049 households out of which 32.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% were married couples living together, 9.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.6% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.87.
